->> With the new administration and new rules ... has anyone had problems taking monopod aboard flights in carrying-on bags? |

->> I'm not sure about the new rules you're referencing, but I've not had any issue ever when carrying the monopod inside my carryon bag. That is, with a carbon fiber monopod and going through an x-ray/security about 20 times during the last year on domestic flights. I've been asked about it by the x-ray screeners, without having to open my bag and it's also been visible during the swab screening for explosive residue. |

->> During my recent travels to Anaheim I kept my monopod inside my roller, carry on. No issues at all. TSA did give me trouble for having card readers velcroed onto my laptop, every single time, but never made me taken them off. By the way, it was great to meet you in person Robert. |

->> There are no restrictions for monopods for commercial flights. The focus at this time is on electronics. Should the DHS make its proposed shift, which is highly in flux, it would however entirely prohibit cameras as carry on for international flights, presently in-bound and out-bound. Monopod would be OK in your carry on, but your cameras and laptops would be going under the aircraft ... but only if the DHS changes are implemented, which would be in direct conflict with the DOT PHMSA and DHS S&T. |
