PHOTO HOSTING / SELLING PRINTS SITE

->> So I have a question for those who post photos and sell them on line. I have had an account with photoshelter for years with over 50,000 images on it and love it for my stock art but it has its draw backs for my daily business.

For my daily business we use Exposure manager that hosts close to 1.5 Million of our photos on it. But with the monthly problems this site has been having of being down or no way to contact them other then e-mail for support we are finding its become more a hassle them a web hosting site to sell photos on. We have been with them for 6 years and average 75-200 sales a month off it but the site seems to always be down when we try to load new images..

So I want to ask you guys if there is a photo hosting site thats in between these two models? One that we can post thousands of photos a month on it and offer all our product to sell?

->> Funny you say Photoshelter is not serving you well for print sales?? Could you elaborate on what your "daily business" is?

->> Oh, yes, I saw that. Exposure Manager. In any case, I'm having no problems selling on Photoshelter. Spent all summer reprocessing my portfolio just for the PS site. Although it was just launched, I see no reason why it won't do well for print sales.

->> With the volume and number of galleries we have on Exposure manager (1.5 million) photos with multiple platforms of products we sell the current site is simple for parents to order from.

Photoshelter on the other hand is perfect for our editorial / stock clients because they can order a product geared toward there special needs as all the photos on that site are sized and ready to be ordered. On Exposure Manager we load thousands of thumbnails a week for parents to view / order.

->> I have not used it, but this Sell Media plugin https://graphpaperpress.com/plugins/sell-media/ looks pretty slick and they have a comparison chart to show you how they compare to others. https://woocommerce.com/ might also be something to look into. Both are free. graphpaperpress.com was founded by a guy who was a photographer at the Lawrence Journal-World and the USA Today.

->> You can do the same thing on PhotoShelter. You just need to pick the right vendor to full-fill the order.

I use EZ Prints as my vendor through PhotoShelter. A lot of products to choose from.
