NBA play-offs shooting positions.

->> Just wondering if anyother newspaper shooters are having this problem.

The NBA play-offs are about to start and we have found out that our paper and our competitor paper have both been shut out of shooting positions on the floor.

Are any other papers having this same issue?

->> Do both papers regularly cover the team? If they do I cannot understand why you would shut out...but I am not the NBA or any other professional league, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last month. Really, on the surface it makes no sense.

->> Yep. That is the norm in the NBA. Been that way all season. Less floor spots and Escape Lanes for player safety. Wire and local media also taking a hit. Less spots on floor means we have to share floor spots or shoot elevated. No reason to complain. It's player safety and NBA control. Just find the best spots in the stands and go create nice images.

->> Three years ago I had no problems getting on the floor for regular season games or the playoffs. But, as noted above, the NBA has reduced the number of floor spots a couple times (I believe) over the past two seasons, and this year we had to shoot from the stands even for the regular season. I wish it wasn't so, but it is so.

I understand that the NBA has reduced floor positions for player safety but what I don't understand is that two of the limited spots on the floor are taken by the "team attendants" that wipe sweat off the floor after a foul shot.
It would be nice if they could relocate those spots to photographers and have the attendants placed behind the baskets like they were a decade ago.
