Blinking battery icon on LCD of 7D

->> I was getting ready to shoot a game tonight and my camera would't turn on. All I am seeing on the mini LCD screen is an empty battery icon that keeps on blinking even if its a fully charged battery and even if the camera is switched off, that icon still blinks.
Tried to do something about it like turning it on and off, changing the
battery and trying another fully charged one, and no luck. Another buddy there had his 7D and we switched batteries and his would work but not mine. Any advice would help this is just a back up camera but still would like to have it.

->> Darrin, It's probably the button cell battery in the camera that has gone dead.

->> Doubt it's the button cell if his friends battery works just fine in the camera. I've had a battery fail on me, thankfully it was new, sent to CPS and it was replaced. You may want to do the same...

->> Thanks everyone. I spoke to Mid State Camera Repair and they said something about a screw that is causing a short and before I spoke to them I goggled my issue and read something about that. They said it was a easy fix now, but if I waited the fix would be a costly one. But those that are concerned my batteries worked in my friends camera but not mine. His batteries wouldn't work in my camera but would work in his obviously and we tried all the batteries (button cell battery included).

->> Makes two of us Jim. Turns out I had two screws out and they were on the power board causing a short of some sort according to the good people at Mid State Camera Repair.
