->> I often use my 2011 MacbookPro outside and am considering a newer 2013 MacbookPro Retina. For those that have made this upgrade, how does the viewing compare?

->> Indeed. The Retina screen is a thing of marvel. Be sure to get the one with the SSD in it.

->> It is definitely more reflective than the old matte screen MBP's. But as Chuck and Phil said, the huge benefits in every other area make it a worthwhile upgrade.

->> I upgraded to the Retina machine about year ago. I have used it in full sunlight, bright light, etc..I have had no problems with resolution or brightness. It is fast and with a tilt of screen I can get it to the angle best suited of the lighting I am working under. I also got the largest SSD they offered since I am often prone on the turf working or sitting ad odd places or angles, I didn't want the word of the moving parts...add in the drives are rather fast, it was a no brainer for me. Good luck with the upgrade...It is definitely worth it....

->> Just got the new one last week. Holy smokes is it fast! Now they have PCIe Flash Drives vs SSD, just like the MacPro. Tested with some Ps Actions that would take 8-10 secs to run now just click and done. Massive +1 gb files from posters/banners open almost instantly. The reflections are not as controlled as the old non-glare MBP but they don't seem as bad as the older Macs standard screen were either. Waiting on a USB3 card reader and wondering how fast ingest with a game sized download will be now.

->> Thanks for all the advice. I got a 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 2.7, 16gb ram, 750 ssd. Pristine condition. Now for the head ache of migration and re-registering all the software. All after I get back from PhotoExpo.
