->> I just wanted to throw this out there for all you Southern California shooters, but Sports Shooter Academy is hosting an open house on November 5th in Costa Mesa. It looks to be a great night filled with keynote speakers, door prizes, and SSA sponsors demo'ing their gear and services. Best of all, it's free and open to the public! Details are below. Looking forward to seeing some of you there.

The lineup of speakers are:
-Rod Mar (Seattle Seahawks team photographer)
Make the Big-Time Where You Are: Getting Excited About Photography
-Grover Sanschagrin (VP of Business Development and Co-Founder of PhotoShelter)
Modern Marketing For Photographers
-Brad Mangin (Bay Area freelance photographer)
Baseball photography from the Hall of Fame to Instagram

SSA XI sponsors Nikon Professional Services and PhotoShelter will be on site and Samy's Camera will be setting up their "mobile-store" featuring special SSA pricing on products. More companies will be announced shortly!

If you want to attend this wonderful evening of photography, education and inspiration, please RSVP by emailing: info@sportsshooteracademy.com. In the email subject please write “SSA Speaker Night” and in the body of the email include your name, email address and if you’re a working photographer or student.

The Sports Shooter Academy XI workshop will be headquartered at:
Crowne Plaza - Costa Mesa Hotel
3131 S. Bristol Street
Costa Mesa, California 92626

Rod Mar, of the Super Bowl champion Seatle Seahawks, will get the evening started with an energy-pack presentation bound to get you thinking about photography and its impact on your life and others.

Grover Sanschagrin will be making a rare appearance in Southern California and will give you an eye-opening look at how to better use social media and introduce you to some new marketing ideas for photographers.

Brad Mangin, who is currently curating a gallery for the Baseball Hall of Fame will discuss that project, his work covering baseball and how he branched out into using Instagram and other cool tools to advance his business.

As with all Sports Shooter Academy workshops, there will be plenty of fun things in and around the actual event itself with lots of photographers to meet, talk to and show your work.

Throughout the evening we will be giving away cool prizes, including several copies of Brad's book Instant Baseball: The Baseball Instagrams of Brad Mangin.

->> To see Rod, Grover, and Brad sharing their knowledge under one roof is a great opportunity, and it's free! Thanks to Bert for making SSA better each year for the past 10 years. As the alumni can attest, the knowledge and experience gained at SSA is invaluable and lasts a lifetime. And it's fun!
