Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10) Issues

->> Things were working fine earlier. Now my MacBook Pro trackpad won't track. Clicking works, tracking doesn't. I'm now having to use an external Magic Trackpad. So much for being on the bleeding edge.

Yosemite seems to be working fine.

I located a fix online:
Use Activity Monitor to force quit CC.
Open Photoshop and sign out of CC.
Close PS.
Reopen and sign back in to CC.
Restart CC.

Just don't want to update the OS if people are having issues.

(And since the author of Spell Catcher passed away it's not being updated any longer.)

->> Re: Handoff

Mark/Kevin, it's primarily related to Bluetooth 4.0, but looks like there's an Apple imposed constraint also, as the mid-2011 MB Air meets the specs.

Handoff Compatibility..

There is a workaround, if you are so inclined...

->> Mark,

From the Apple link that Ralph provided:

"Handoff and Instant Hotspot

Handoff and Instant Hotspot are supported by the following Mac models, and require OS X Yosemite:

MacBook Air (Mid 2012 and later)"

Mine is a Mid 2011, so I'm out unless I get brave and do the workaround patch from macrumors.

Wifi works.

Everything seems to run smoother.

The look is clean, it's moving my tagged work in Photo Mechnic (4.5.4) 3x faster, smarter searches, finder has smarter folders, annotate emails, rename batch amounts in finder, signing with track pad, record screen activity, Safari tabs and general upgrades.

My favorite OSX in 5 years.

Note: I did an SSD upgrade so it might be wonkier on 7200 rpm drive. Apple is moving/designing most around SSD drives these days. Just a hunch.

->> I'm one of the early adopters. I've had no issues on an older MBP or an older 24" desktop. As far as wifi, I purchased a new router just before it came out and I've had no issues. I think this was a great update. There are some things that are different and one has to work a bit to do some of the previous actions, but once you get used to the action it makes sense.

I have not found it disruptive to my flow at all.
