Photo Mechanic Question for PC users
Louis Brems, Photographer, Photo Editor

->> We just bought Photo Mechanic at the Newspaper I work at.
We are PC based. I have always been a MAC user. My workflow on my MAC and on my PC at work have not changed.
I still shoot Raw, ingest, apply IPTC, Tag, Cutline, Open all Tag files in raw to process.
This has always worked on the MAC fine.
Yesterday, our first day using Photo Mechanic on the PC
I noticed upon attempting to open all of my tagged images in Adobe Camera Raw only one image at time opened.
I had to adjust that image save it and then the other image popped up.
Is this a PC thing? Is a setting in Photo Mechanic thing?
On my MAC upon opening all the selected images they sit in a sidebar in ACR which I can adjust each image then save all images.
Again I'm new to Photo Mechanic on the PC so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I asked Camera Bits Support but so far they have come up with nothing.
I'm using Photoshop CS6 Camera Raw 8.4 and Photo Mechanic 5.
Thanks,

Louis

->> Try Preferences/Launching.

Though the only thing I see in there is "Max photos to edit at once without warning"

Beyond that, I don't see any other options in preferences. I have the same experience as Wally. When I select 10 photos and hit CTRL-E it opens all 10 (down the side of the ACR) and I select each one, edit, go to the next then select all and open in PS if needed. Question is, what version of PS are you using? I know it's been the same at least since CS6 and CC works the same.

Personally.. I found it faster to work with Lightroom since cropping is transferred over (as it is with ACR I believe) but it's just a faster workflow for me to make adjustments. But if all you have is PS then you'll need to find a solution.

->> What versions of Photoshop/camera raw are you using on the mac and PC? I have Photoshop 5 at home and when I want to edit multiple images in camera raw they do the thing you are used to, all open in camera raw. At work we have the newer PS6 with the new camera raw and we can only do one file at a time, like you are now having to deal with. I am wondering if it is a camera raw issue. I use photo mechanic at both places, only the version of photoshop is different.

I also don't like the new version of camera raw. I prefer the old adjustments and can't get used to the new ones.

->> Just tried it in CC and PS6 and it opens all the files, down the side. Maybe the left sidebar is hidden somehow??

using 5.0 Build 15451, but that shouldn't matter much as it's never been any different for me.

->> Thanks for the posts. Paul I suggest changing the max edit preference to say 50 images and see what happens.
I have CS6 and Camera Raw 8.4 at work. When i changed that feature the images opened correctly. I had all the selected images loaded in the sidebar.
It's the only thing i did differently that could have made a change.

I suggest updating to Camera Raw 8.5 to see if that might help as well.
