Fun Media Day Idea
Sam Morris, Photographer

->> I, myself, am always frustrated with media day photo shoots because everything cool has been done before and I can't think of anything interesting. Until someone comes along and does something cool again, which sends me into another bout of self loathing.

Anyway, Joe Cavaretta came up with a cool idea while covering the Miami Heat's media day for the South Florida Sun Sentinel: he handed his iPad to the players and had them take a selfie. Check it out.

->> Now may be I've been doing this for way too long and I hate to sound like C-Liddy, but if this is a "cool" idea, it seems to me the industry is in seriously deep kimchi.

->> I didn't necessarily think these images were cool either. What makes them any better than the Olympic portraits that caused an uproar?

Either way, I respect Joe for trying something different.
