Thank you Boston Marathon photographers
Brian Blanco, Photographer
Tampa / Sarasota | FL | USA | Posted: 11:58 AM on 04.16.13
->> I just wanted to take a moment to say how impressed I am with the body of work, as a whole, I've seen this morning from the photographers on scene at yesterday's Boston Marathon.

I'm hesitant to name names simply because everyone, down to a single shooter, turned in powerful work in the face of personal danger and amid confusion.

Transitioning from being a sports photographer to a conflict/disaster photographer in a mater of seconds cannot be an easy thing to do and, after checking the wires, newspapers and websites all morning I can tell you that they all did it with class.

So, bottom line: thank you for standing your ground and bringing the horror of this event to us, and to the world. Clearly you all knew of the great possibility of secondary blasts designed to take out first responders and journalists and yet, despite that, you stayed... thanks for that.

->> VERY Well said, as usual, Brian.

For those who shoot just sports, this is as real as it gets. This is what Chuck Liddy is talking about.

My hat is off to the many photographers who were able to produce the powerful images that told the story.
