->> Was shooting a minor league game the other day, top of the 7th the game stops as very similar thing happened - kid with cancer rounds the bases as all the players from the home team in the field give him high fives on his way around, then the entire visiting team lined up on the third base path to do the same - won't be a viral video probably, but happens more than we see!

Nebraska also put out the video of getting Jack ready for the play. Some Xs and Os.

By the time he was at the five, I was getting misty-eyed. When the benches emptied, I had to get a tissue.

->> Kudos to John Peterson for making such a tremendous image of Jack Hoffman crossing the goal line.

The light is gorgeous, the angle and composition are perfect, but it's the emotion on the faces of all of the players that is priceless.

This is the best photo I've seen in a long time.

->> The nature of being a PJ is so often driven by bad things, ugly things, unfortunate things.

I didn't get misty eyed on this one. I got another good dose of hope. Everyday, people do things that are positive and matter. It can be a instant of someone just doing the right thing, or letting a kid who faces far bigger challenges then most of us experience true joy. Thing is, We just don't always hear about them. We need to look for those things harder.

Thanks for starting the link, Sam. You did exactly that.

Stuff like this is actually why I got into photojournalism, despite what anybody in the general public thinks, calling us vultures. I'd be just as happy doing stories like this for the rest of my life.
