To my mind, you're either fully in the public eye at this level, or you're not. You don't get to pick-and-mix the level of exposure. If you're courting fame and celebrity, the occasional unflattering photograph or prickly opinion piece comes with the territory.
There's a public appetite for the paparazzi images because Joe Average feels a small level of comfort knowing that, having just rolled out of bed without the benefit of a stylist, Celebrity-du-Jour can look just as rough and unkempt as they do on any given morning. |

| ->> I guess this is why editors are smarter than I am. If I had shot those and was self editing, I would never put them out. They aren't good, but they had to know those types of images would get huge play, so kudos. And the PR person just made it a million times worse by sending that email. Big time fail. hahaha. |

| ->> I would have edited those images out before I delivered them. Why send unflattering images unless you want this kind of reaction? The publicist was doing their job, that's what they are paid for. It makes it harder for us in the future getting access. Sorry Martin we always agree...... |

->> I agree. I never would have put those in an edit if I had taken them.
However, maybe these celebrities should consider changing their costumes to be a little more modest. |

->> That first image is hardly flattering, but anyone who chooses to move their body at a high rate of speed, arms flailing, hips shaking, all attendant parts set into motion as though they were in a particle accelerator and in full view of the public should also accept that various awkward contortions and flutterings will be captured by the click makers.
I've seen this in almost every sport where pretty people can routinely be made to look as though they've just been zapped in the groin by a laser when they're involved in high-speed, high-impact plays.
To then demand the removal of such photos from public view only shows that the celebrity performers have thinner skin than spoiled grapes. |

| ->> Having been a "publicist," it is easy to assume the publicist is an idiot when in fact their client is. Publicists' advice is not always followed. |

->> This must be why her management only allowed photographers to shoot 30 seconds (yes, 30 seconds, 15 of which she was just standing there) of her show in Orlando a few years ago.
Or she is just clumsy. She fell down the stairs during the show. Her team successfully had that cell phone video removed from YouTube. |
