->> My 400 became stuck on my D4 yesterday. I press the mount button and the lens wont rotate, its like the locking pin wont retract.

Had similar happen to a friend recently as well. Anyone have a solution to get the lens off or know what it happening?

->> There was a guy selling a D4 400 combo on fm a week or two back because they were stuck. Seems to be a be a trend.

Just be glad you don't have to worry about the sensor getting dirty now...

->> The unremovable or stuck 400mm or 600mm is an known issue with atleast "first batch" D4 cameras the bayonet and lens releasing pin constrution has now been changed "new" D4 cameras should not have this issue anymoore. You have to sent the whole packet to Nikon service that is the only way to do it....

->> Add me to a list of D4 owners experiencing a stuck lens on a D4.

I was packing up after shooting a game last night and could not remove a 200-400 from a D4. The combo seems to still work fine; I just can't remove the lens. If I need to send the D4 in for repair I would prefer not to ship the 200-400 with it.

A search came up with a reference to a service slot the user was able to push a small pin through and push the lens release pin down enough to remove the lens.
I don’t see any service slot. Does it exist and if yes, where is it?

Thanks.
