Looking for driving radius app
Brian Hollingsworth, Photographer
Austin | TX | USA | Posted: 12:57 AM on 07.17.12
->> Does anyone know of an app that will generate a map of a certain driving radius? For example if I wanted to know what was within either 400 miles or 5 hours drive of a specific city or specific coordinates.

I'd use google maps, but I'm pretty sure that my compass and protractor would scratch the hell out of my IPad.

Thanks.

->> @Brian-
Google maps has a Distance Measurement Tool you can enable

http://support.google.com/maps/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1628031

Not only does it allow you to pinpoint the exact distance between two places in boring units like miles or kilometers, you can also measure in parsecs, light-years, cubits (both Jewish 1st Temple and Roman cubits), and a lot of other options

Microsoft Map point. * some versions will come with a GPS receiver as well.
http://www.microsoft.com/mappoint/en-us/home.aspx It will allow you to plot a radius, and or add in a start and ending point as you go along to stay in a area of interest.
