| ->> ...if you use it for contacts, networking, etc. FB has recently changed EVERYONE'S displayed email account to an account with the ".facebook.com" extension. Whatever email you posted there before is now gone. I had to go in and change mine back, and it was no easy process to figure out. How does FB get away with this? Changing people's email addresses??? C'mon... |

->> here's the instructions to change it back:
1) Click on "Edit Profile"
2) then "Contact Information" located in REALLY small text on the left of the page toward the bottom.
3) At the top of this page, you'll see "ADD/REMOVE EMAILS" and to the right there are two icons. The icon on the right (not the crowd icon or public icon) but the one with the down arrows on it... click on the down arrow, and choose "hidden from profile" on the ".facebook.com" address. Make sure your chosen email address is chosen to be "shown on profile".
What balls these people at Facebook have to just change someone's displayed email address without a WORD to anybody!! |

| ->> My original email address was still there, there was an additional email account which Facebook did add. With that said, my old email is still my default and primary, hidden from view, and the Facebook email is now displayed. The Facebook email goes to the Facebook messages folder which is not really a bad feature to have. I'm sure the spammers will figure out how to exploit every way in the world to make this a problem in the future but for now not a biggie. |

->> Phil thanks for the heads up. I went in and changed mine thanks to your instructions.
From a protective perspective. Listing an email address not affiliated with their personal email address might give people an extra layer of protection from spam and viruses.
I still would have liked to have been notified about the change before it happened. |

->> Thank you Phil.
By the end of the day we'll know whether we are leaving FB. We're looking at what we've gotten out of it since we've been on. I do know that we have gotten a lot more from mailings even when factoring in the expenses associated with it.
It's been a strange look into human behavior to say the least. :)
