Err message on D3
John Geliebter, Photographer
Philadelphia | Pa | USA | Posted: 11:44 AM on 06.10.12
->> I turned on my D3 to shoot a game yesterday and discovered the following problem. It will only fire a single frame in continuous mode. The images are completely overexposed regardless of what mode I'm in or settings I use. I get an Err message on each shot. My shutter count is approx. 30K. I bought the body used about a year ago and it is very clean and shows little use. Has anyone had this or a similar problem? Does this sound like I need to replace the shutter?
Thanks,
John

->> John,

Have you tried a different lens? I had the exact same issue but only with one lens. The mount on the lens needed replacing. The camera was fine.

->> Yep tried that. Lenses worked on 2nd body. Couldn't get it to work right with any lens.

->> John, I had a similar problem once and found the battery to be the cause of the problem. All my images were completely blown out, camera would only fire after i turned it off, then turned it back on. Replaced the battery and it cleared up.
