Quicken Home & Business vs Quickbooks Pro 2012

->> OK Costco had a $75 coupon for Quickbooks Pro 2012, making it $100, so I bought it today to replace my Quickbooks Pro 1999. I only use it really to invoice a few freelance clients each year and track the few business expenses I have each year. Only reason I upgraded was my old Quickbooks is on a old Windows XP machine that is being phased out and my new Windows 7 machine will not run the old software.

While at Costco I noticed Quicken Home and Business and wondered if it would do what I need it to. Basically invoice clients and track some expenses. As a bonus it might help us get a handle on our home budget.

So anyone using Quicken for invoices and expenses?

->> MS Word and Excel will do the same thing. Or OpenOffice.

I have spent 26 years helping businesses and I am convinced that for what you are asking for can be done very nicely on Word and Excel.

Even Quicken will frustrate most people.
