->> Have any of you used this "Windows apps on a Mac" software? I'm thinking about it but I'm wary of giving my Mac anything else to do.

->> I'm running VMFusion 4 in a virtual machine in combo with WIN 7 32-bit on a Mac Book Pro. Works wonderfully, although as I need to upgrade my software that runs on that, I will get the mac versions.

->> Phil, maybe the first question is what do you need to do with Windows. If you've got a reasonably current Mac with a bit of upgraded RAM, it shouldn't be an issue, performance wise...unless you're thinking games.

Both are good solutions, but if you want a bit more insight you might start here:

->> I had been running VMware Fusion v3 for Windows apps on my Mac but with the upgrade to Lion it wouldn't run anymore. I could have gotten Fusion v4 for $49 but opted instead to go for Parallels Desktop 7 for $29 cross-grade. Just did this today and I'm happy with my choice. It was cheaper than sticking with Fusion and many online reviews give the speed nod to Parallels.

->> I am using Parallels 6 with Windows 7 on an iMac 27" and a 13" MacBook Air and it works fine. I used it on a 13" MBP at my last job and ran it every day with no issues. Just make sure you have plenty of memory. That makes the biggest performance difference.
