Thanks NPPA! The Business Blitz in San Jose was fantastic!

->> I would like to thank Craig Mitchelldyer and the NPPA for putting on a terrific program at San Jose State University yesterday. It is really good for our industry to have the NPPA trying to educate photographers all over the country about business. It is no secret that past NPPA regimes neglected the freelance members and the business problems we all face. HUGE kudos to the current folks in charge who are really trying to help.

I was always a big fan of the Flying Short Courses from the glory days of the 80's and early 90's (I attended my first FSC in Orange County in 1986) when I regularly attended the west coast stops. I loved being motivated by speakers like Sam Abell, Dean Collins, Pat McDonogh, William Coupon, Ben Van Hook, Scott Strazzante, Natalie Fobes, Bryan Moss and others.

However, having the chance to learn from the likes of John Harrington, Grover Sanschagrin, Andrew Funderburg, and the Tax Ninja might have a bigger impact on my career and business as I move forward.

There is one stop left on this traveling seminar: November 10 in St. Petersburg. If you are in Florida and call yourself a photographer you are nuts if you do not attend:

Thanks to the NPPA for seeking out Craig Mitchelldyer to put this wonderful program together. You done good.

->> Great Program! I hope they keep doing these kinds of events. Programs like this by other organizations usually cost hundreds, so this was definitely worth the trip from Fresno.

P.S. Props to Brad for tipping me off about the program. So glad I went!

->> Are St Louis, San Jose and St. Pete the only venues for this? I missed it and would very much like to make the next one that might be coming to the west coast. John Harrington talking about the business of photography is something I definitely could benefit from.

They had the first one in McLean, VA - from there...
August 11: Denver, CO
September 29: St Louis, MO
October 7: San Jose, CA
November 10: St Petersburg, FL

So St. Pete is the last one for this year. I'm not sure what the next few will be in future years..

->> Thanks for all the kind words. Makes all the work worth it. We tried to cover the country, east, west, central as best we could with 5 stops. My thought was to hit up places that might usually be ignored.

That said, where do you all think we should go next?
