Historic baseball images by Leslie Jones
Mike Cohea, Photographer

->> Some really interesting and rarely seen baseball photos by Leslie Jones, a cameraman for the Boston Herald-Traveler from 1917-'56.

Great access led to some really nice angles of the action mixed in with off-the-field photos, including photos of Babe Ruth. Pretty neat.

->> That was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a follow-up: does anyone know where I can find a photo(s) that shows a photographer on the field taking photo's at a baseball game? I've told people about this and nobody believes it used to be that way.

Several of Jones' images are clearly taken from somewhere on the field, and I know I've seen images of photographers positioned near the on-deck circle, etc., before, but I can't seem to find any

Thanks in advance.
