->> Anyone have any info on what the lighting there is like at night. I searched the message board and the guide and found nothing. Looks like it is pretty good by the photos I have found on the web. |

->> You should check with SS member JC Ridley, as he has experience working under the lights at Lockhart. |

->> Last time I shot there it was around 500th 2.8 800asa ( with all the lights on).
For football ( American) you will be fine with available light. For soccer I found that there is a 1-2 stop fall off towards the goals and the corners.
That being said, if they don;t turn on all the lights it will be very different.
Fell free to contact me if you need any other info.
Best of luck.

->> Lockhart Stadium is an old high school stadium that was "converted" into a soccer stadium to host the Miami Fusion of the MLS back in the late 1990's. It sits next to Ft. Lauderdale Stadium, the former spring home of the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees.
I believe the lighting was replaced after Hurricane Wilma in 2005, but I don't remember the extent of the damage.
Lighting is very directional from the sidelines and falls off in the end zones for football. If you are an "end zone squatter" you will be very disappointed with the artificial light.
If you are shooting soccer I would imagine the same would apply to the goal box and to the extreme sidelines.
FAU's 4pm games provide about a quarter of "golden hour" light if the gods keep the western suburban thunderstorms at bay.
In total artificial light my readings are 1/500 f2.8 @ 2000 ASA. |

->> I will be there for the first half then will need to head down to Landshark for the 'Canes game. Co-team photog Ralph Notero will be there for the duration.
Calling the place a dump is actually being too kind...it is quite possibly the worst FBS stadium in the country. |
