The Kahuna's "Don't Call-It-A-Blog" has now been incorporated into the workshop's new site. So there are a couple of new posts about the World Series on the new ssa.com.

->> Thought I'd also post this on Melissa's thread on the workshop:

I had a question about the application process for SSA VII. There is a deadline this time and we will be filling the limited number of spots as we receive the applications. So it is a good possibility that all of the spaces will be filled by the time the application deadline rolls around in early January.

There will be a waiting list once the workshop fills up. I hope we do not have any dropouts and any openings would be filled from the waiting list.

And lastly: There are NO plans to hold a Sports Shooter Academy outside of southern California.

Mahalo!

Also a quick note on applications, which have been available for a little over a week: There is an interesting trend developing for SSA VII with several applications from the U.K. and a couple from Mexico! This workshop could be an international event!

The amount of equipment they brought in for the workshop this year was the most I have seen at any event...

->> George, I was at the last SSA in April 2009 and the amount of Nikon equipment that Ron (from Nikon) had there to be loaned out was unreal and their assistance was even better.

If you are thinking about attending this years SSA, DON'T think any longer GO you will have a great time and you won't regret going. The combination of the Great Staff Bert & Matt put together and the many locations for shooting along with the Nikon equipment make it a can't miss.

I wish I could attend this April's event but I have to sit this one out. My son is in his senior year of High School and the SSA is right in the middle of High School Baseball season. My son has had interest from numerous Pro Baseball Scouts so this is going to be a big year for him (hopefully) and I don't want to miss a game. Hopefully I will be attending the 2011 SSA.

->> Thanks William and Robert,

As much as I would love to attend SSA VII, my schedule doesn’t allow it. Again, I was following this thread;

http://www.sportsshooter.com/message_display.html?tid=34532

Clicked on the SSA VII thread to find the link to Robert’s World Series Story, and inadvertently posted my question in the SSA VII thread thinking I was still in the WS thread.

I was curious whether Nikon had made D3s’s available to some of the top Nikon Shooters like Robert for the World Series.

Great read on your WS story by the way Robert.

How many people get accepted to each SSA event? 10? 20? 70?

->> Robert,

I take it that the answer to my question in the link you provided is "limited"? I had checked in the FAQ and didn't see an answer.

I also read that the applicants that are accepted will be notified right away, but what about those that are not accepted? Will they be notified that they were not accepted but not all of the spots are full yet?

I am sorry for all the questions, I am just getting really excited about this and trying to figure everything out.

Thanks for all your help Robert!

->> David,

I recall, Robert tries to accept as many people as space, money, and time will allow - but also keeping the total number of people to a size where everyone can get the individual attention and opportunity to shoot sports that they want to!

So apply, pray, then go out and keep shooting on your own :)
