Anybody shoot in MassMutual Center in Springfield?

->> I am shooting a State Championship Game there tomorrow night and I am just looking for information regarding the arena. I have checked out the "Guide" but it doesn't have any info regarding Press Sections, if strobes are available or not, etc. Just looking for info such as that, directions and parking are all on the Guide. Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

->> Shot there in 2007 for some youth hockey. Didn't have access to strobes, and don't believe they are set up for them. I will make a few calls to some western friends to see if that has changed.

Anyways ambient is around ISO 1000, 1/500th, f2.8 from the benches. Didn't shoot through the glass as I had bench access. Also don't remember if they had cutouts in the corners. Been a little while.

->> Not too worried about the strobes, I am not set up for them anyway (although if I needed them, I am going right by Hunt's in Hadley, I would have stopped there to get what I needed). But I am wondering about Cut-Outs in the glass, is the glass clean enough to shoot through, potential upper deck vantage points (if that is allowed), etc. I am used to shooting in small arenas that don't restrict Press access, I just don't want to cause a problem and get tossed.

Thanks for your help and I am looking forward to your next post.

Jeff

->> Jeff why not shoot Nathan an email at the MIAA? I'm sure that he can give you a contact at the arena to ask and put at ease any fears of you being tossed. I haven't shot an MIAA final in a long time but last time that I did Nathan was very helpful.

->> Eric, I think I exaggerated getting tossed, but I am used to having free reign and shooting in an arena that also hosts professional sports teams, I don't know if things will be different, such as an assigned area for photographers. I did on the other hand get on the MIAA website and could not find Nathan at the MIAA. But I am planning on getting there early enough to scope out the arena and will be sure to put up info in the guide tomorrow.

Thanks
