The absolute coolest thing I've seen this year!!!

The image is absolutely incredibly unreal...

How many SS members can you find... I found six including myself.

John Harrington, who I think is Robert Deutsch and myself,
along with, Diddy and Denzel Washington. Oh yea and David Burnett who you can't miss with his famous camera.

I know Maria Carey is in there somewhere as well as Vincent Laforet but I've yet to find either of them... maybe got sidetracked together somewhere.

SS member Mike Isler is... oh wait he was stuck in the purple tunnel doom.

SS member Patrick Smith should be in there somewhere as well.

Was Oprah up on the stage?

... and Spoth the "requested" fun pix has been submitted.

Taking a close look at the former President I made out that what might appear to be a cellphone is actually a water carafe right behind his hands as he's applauding.

I think I also found John Harrington (2nd row down, 9th from the right, yellow jacket, standing behind a mess of cameras) and David Burnett (3rd row up, 5th from the right, blue jacket and 4x5).

Rich, there are a few stitching errors in the image because I wanted to get it online fast. We're working on a much better version that will be available in print form shortly.

The entire scene took about 15 minutes to shoot. It's 20 rows by 11 columns of individual, full res JPEGs.

Best,
David

I believe Dave Burnett is on the front row of the upper gallery behind the podium level, as we view it, over the furthest right arch, next to the second permanent light post from the right. He is wearing a light colored jacket with a fur lined hood.

The detail in this production is amazing. No dig at the G10 (I love mine and carry it nearly daily), but imagine the possibilities when a lens with better resolution is used, such as a DSLR with good prime.

Thanks for the correction. What I could see of the face of that photographer didn't seem like David Burnett to me but there was so much jacket there I wasn't sure and I didn't see any other 4x5s so I made an (incorrect) assumption.

Did I get John Harrington correct or did I totally strike out?

It has been quite entertaining to look at all of the detail and setups. The remotes in particular have been fascinating to me.

Additionally, the number of point & shoots is incredible (including some in the media areas).

The level of viewer-engagement in the image highlights the strengths of new media. Kudos to David for having the prescience to set this up and execute it so wonderfully.
