Color and contrast off when uploaded online?

| ->> I am updating my website and uploaded pictures that were edited in RAW and then saved as Jpeg's. They look great in Bridge and Photoshop but when they are uploaded online, the contrast looks off, the color isn't as right and there is less red in the image. Has anyone every experienced this or have any suggestions? |

->> David,
Convert your images from Adobe RGB to SRGB before they go on the web and that should solve the problem.

That is a partial solution. If you don't embed the color profile in the jpeg image then some browsers will still not display the colors right.
The option to do that seems to move around so search the Adobe Help that comes with your version of Photoshop. |

->> Yeah get rid of the sound.
Overall interesting concept. I like the idea of the layout/background, but I don't like:
1.The repeats. Looks too much like wallpaper and less like a collection.
2.Wasn't really sure what to do. I clicked on portfolio and expected a portfolio to pop up. Then I just decided to start clicking on the images. Especially confusing because on your 1st page the images appeared clickable, but they didn't allow you to the enter the site, so I didn't think they were actually links once I got in.
Good start. |

->> Thanks guys, I really appreciate the honest feedback. I did remove the sound and will upload more pictures to prevent the repeat. What monitor size/ resolution are you guys looking at it?
I'm also working on the clickable/enter stuff too. |

| ->> Greg, the default color space for browsers is sRGB. If you convert them to this space before uploading them, the colors will be fine regardless if the profile is embedded or not. Browsers assume sRGB unless told otherwise. |

| ->> Matt, from experience we found that not all browsers do the right thing. While current versions default to sRGB and respect color-space information, older ones did not. Converting to sRGB and embedding the profile covers the bases. I can only see one reason to not embed it - file size. The profile info does expand the file a bit, but it makes a minimal difference in download time on the majority of user's connections while helping to ensure color consistency with older versions of browsers. |
