Need Help With Canon 300 2.8L
Chuck Wellman, Photographer
Freeport | IL | USA | Posted: 10:42 PM on 10.29.08
->> I have a USM version of the Canon 300 2.8L lens that is missing the clear plastic cover over the Depth Of Field or Distance Scale on top of the barrel. Canon says the part is obsolete now. Any ideas on where I can find a replacement part? Thanks for any help. Trying to keep from having to ship it to CPS to get this little part serviced. Thanks.

->> I have used Midwest Camera Repair in Wyandotte, MI to service my Canon 300mm 2.8L non IS. They did a great job. Also they have a rush service available for professional photographers.

->> IF it is a non-IS version CPS won't work on it. TF Camera Repair in East Brunswick, NJ is another option to Midstate and Midwest.

->> All my gear only goes out to Midstate Camera Repair, http://www.midtstatecamerarepair.com

Mark and Keith are tops and have a better turn around time than Canon..............oh yea, and seem to have fixes for some very odd repairs I have needed on out-of-service gear (well Canon says their are out of service)
