644,046 Exposures

->> One of my photgraphers has just revealed to me that in four years, using two Canon EOS-1d Mk 2 camera bodies, he has clocked in with 644,046 exposures...
He says, "I shoot a lot of sports."
I figure that he made the transition to video about 2.5 years ago. |

->> If my math is right, that works out to about one frame every three minutes.
Jeeze, I shot faster than that with my AE-1. |

->> Hey, at least CPS takes good care of me. Once you learn that you can completely exhaust a shutter and get a new one in your hands 2 days later for under $275, you start to worry a lot less about wear and tear. If only they could do something about the 190,000 miles on my truck.
Rule #1 of the used market: never buy a camera from a newspaper photog. |

->> Does anyone know if you can check the numbers of exposures on a Nikon D70 and a D1H. I can't find anything in the d70 manual and I don't have one for the D1H. Would be curious to know.
Thanks |

->> Jon and Rhonda, check the older threads, the topic has been well documented.
Check the EXIF data on a JPEG via Graphic converter on a Mac and Opanda for windows.
Good luck. |

->> The two 1D/1Ds bodies I continue to use are at 1mil+, the 1D I bought new in 2002 is at 1.75mil shutter clicks. I got the 1Ds in early '05. Lots of new shutters, and the bodies still work!
One of my 1D Mk I bodies is now dead, it had 1.5mil clicks, but the other 1D and 1Ds work just fine!
I am currently abusing a 5D/20D combo, until I move to two 5D MkII bodies (for less than the cost of a single 1Ds MkIII) |

| ->> Seldom will I shoot more than 200 - 250 frames in a day long shoot. Even if it an "action" shoot. 30 frames per hour is plenty for me. Anything more than that is too much work and hugely redundant. Just my opinion... |
