If you squint your eyes a little bit, they all look like the same person; all in shorts, in those tan vests.
And what's with the two guys on the bottom right? |

Erik Markov, Photographer

Kokomo | IN | | Posted: 3:44 PM on 08.14.08 |
->> No Michael, I think the lifeguards are there in case a photog stumbles and falls into the pool. The photographer can drown and stay in the pool, but someone needs to save the camera and if there are any photos make sure they get to the appropriate editor.
Gives new meaning to pool photographer. |

| ->> Stan made a comment about a modified mono pod that held two cameras....I saw probably the same guy during the gymnastics. Anyone know how to build that thing? Or can you buy a duel ball head of some kind that would mount to the monopod? I think that would be cool to set up, especially if I have to shoot a concert from the sound board and I have only 1 or 2 songs to get tight, med and wide shots. That would take care of it, a 400 on one side and 70-200 on the other. Super cool. |

->> the double tripod head is something i've also seen used by catwalk photographers. they used to see a lot of use in the film days as you could run out of film on one camera then shoot with the other without missing a beat. one old hand i spoke to once even claimed he'd then change film on the first camera while shooting with the second....
i'm sure bogen/manfrotto make something like it but i'll be darned if i can find it on their website. |

->> Dave Breen, it was a joke referring to the statistical fact that photojournalists are middle-aged white males.
This photo illustrates that pretty well.
Nothing wrong with 30-50 year old white guys, almost all of my friends and co-workers are in that demographic, because I'm a p-j too. Hell, I'm a few years from being included in it too. |

->> John Mcconnell of the Washington Post uses a double mounted Monopod.
Saw him use it at a Baseball Game a few monthe ago.
He had a 70-200 on one head and a 300 on the other. Kinda cool. You just go from camera to camera. |
