WHich version of Windows XP for Parralell?
Jerome Davis, Photographer

->> I just recently purchased Parrallels for my MacBook Pro. However, I need to get Windows XP. I went on line to do a search and there where a gazillion different versions. I just wanted to know which version should I purchase? Any suggestion where to pick a copy up from?

->> FWIW, despite all the warnings and horror stories, I'm running Vista (Ultimate) in VMWare Fusion and it's working fine. However, I don't use it all that often. I suppose if I were constantly using Windows, I might feel the pain more...

Anyway, I think if you want XP, Home or Professional are really the only reasonable choices. You don't want the Tablet PC version, you probably don't need the Media Center version and I'm not sure if the 64 bit version works in Parallels.

->> Hey Jerome.

You might want to try this product out. It's called Crossover, and I use it to run a couple of Windows apps natively on my MacBook Pro. No need for Parallels. No need for Boot Camp. No need for Windows of any sort. Of course, not ALL Windows application will work, so they let you "try before you buy". Worked for me, so I bought it, and I'm very pleased with it. No harm to kick its tires...

Let us know how it works out for you.

Take care.
