kingston or pny cf cards
Scott Lukaitis, Photographer

->> Does anyone have any experience with either brand of cards? I need to buy some 2g or 4g cards and don't have a ton of cash to spend.

I tried looking back at some of those sales that people were having a while back but nothing comes up on sale anymore.

Thanks

->> Never a problem with Kingston, just as reliable and Lexar/Sandisk. Half my cards are Kingston.

->> I consistently use a couple pny cards along with sandisk cards and the pny cards have been very reliable. However, in the future I will probably stick with sandisk cards because their customer service and card replacement (in case something does go bad) is pretty fast and trouble free.

->> Both are reliable. If you're looking for speed, PNY's UDMA cards are significantly faster in my experience in high-speed shooting:

Check the performance charts for your camera at Galbraith's site, which have been recently updated, as well as Chuck's site linked above.

Staples has the PNY Pro 266X cards at a decent price, if you don't feel like ordering. It's a nice card.

Lots of stores are blowing out the Sandisk Ultra II's pretty cheap, but they are pretty old technology now and very slow in most newer cameras. I recommend going for at least the Extreme III.

Newegg.com is usually tough to beat on price for the cards they carry.
