Help with Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Wayne McAtee, Photographer, Assistant

->> I need to make some Gallery Wraps who do you use?
I have looked at mpix.com, simplycanvas.com. I need 16 x 20 and 20 x 24.
Thanks

->> I recently got wraps from both Mpix and Simply Canvas. The quality of the Simply Canvas materials seemed a bit nicer as the one from Mpix has a distracting sheen reflecting light to it. Simply Canvas leaves the back open, while Mpix finished it with a nice black material. Simply Canvas is slower to deliver, Mpix was here in 3 days. I also have one from Canvas on Demand, but it was done as a framed canvas painting, so the comparisons are not as easy to make.
I will be using Simply Canvas in the future unless it's a rush job. Pricing from all three are pretty close.

->> Check out White House Custom Color (whcc.com), very fast/ quality processing. You have to register a "studio" which is free and takes no time at all.

->> Just received a 30x40 with floating frame from Simply Canvas. Very pleased. You can have paper and hardware added to the back for a fee.

Have also used canvas on demand. It's not the same quality as simply canvas.

WHCC is my next try. They do all my standard print work, and the gallery wraps they displayed at Expo and the PPA show were nice. They have the metallic option also.

But I'm very happy with Simply Canvas.

->> I agree with Lucas and Stephen. WHCC has been my favorite for large gallery wrapped canvases. They come out of the box (free shipping I believe) ready to hang. You can get them in 1.5 or 2.5 inch wraparound. You can also view when you place an order exactly how your image will fit on the front and dropoff area.

->> Canvas on Demand produced a really nice product for me. If you look in rangefinder magazine they always have a special for a free sample (up to 16x20???) when you open an account with them.

Go to
http://canvasondemand/wppi and they will provide you with a PRo account and a code for a free canvas

This is from the initial email they sent me:

"Professional pricing is 25% off our regular retail prices and in addition, you will receive a one time use coupon code for an additional $84 off your first order (the cost of a 16x20 Museum Gallery Wrapped canvas)."

Enjoy

Delane
