Seeking Opinion On Organiser Term & Condition

->> I received a reply from an event organiser that I apply for media accreditation
Except from them
"There's one condition though, we hope that your agency would be able to supply us with photographs taken of the event; solely to be used by the organizer (website/bulletins/magazine.. etc). These photographs need to be submitted on a daily basis, of 10 images from each stage"
"we do not intend to sell the submitted photographs, but to have a variety in our collection."
Anybody could share their experience on this kind of request? |

->> HI...
What's the reason you want to cover this event? Are you shooting for a publication, shooting for an agency, shooting for your personal stock, or is it a cool event that you want to attend?
If you are shooting on assignment for a publication or an agency, you should check with them before giving away images. I doubt they would want to give away photos.
If you are shooting for your own stock, you should check your wallet at the door.
From the event's perspective, they probably receive many, many credential requests. The normal reason for giving media access to an event is to create publicity --- either concurrent publicity to the event that will draw more attendance ( a multi-day event that gets newspaper/TV coverage hopes more people will come on the the other days based on what they see and read in the newspaper and on TV) or post-event publicity that tells a story and makes people wish they had gone and increases attendance at future events.
At this point you are probably saying to yourself, "yeah, that's pretty obvious. Tell me something I don't know".
Well, I don't know your personal situation, but I am guessing you are not on assignment. A request from a freelance photographer that is not on assignment from a publication does not create much (if any) exposure for their event so they are going to try to get something in return for giving a credential.
You are actually in a pretty good position now. You have been told by a potential client that they have a need for photos. I suggest you try to meet with them face to face, show them some examples of your prior work for similar events, discuss their needs and negotiate a rate to to be their photographer.
For example, if they have a website talk about how you can quickly get photos to them re-sized for web publication while the event is in progress. These web pages could display the photos along with their sponsor's logos and be promoted during announcements from the stages. The sponsors will be happy to get more exposure, the fans will be happy to remember their experience by visiting the website and the event can promote future dates!
They probably will have a small budget, but if you have good work to show them you can probably sell your services to them instead of giving them away!
Good luck!

->> I need to totaly agree with David...
If they already told you that they wanted or needed some images... Well, that is the hardest part of the sale usualy. Now all you need to do is figure out the price point.
Their perspective... They want to pay for images with the credentials.
Yur perspective... You can give them better and more images/exposure if your paid.
Now meet in the middle.
Good luck.
