Just saw this one, and thought.. what else is there. It seems rather "large".

Are there any which fold out nicely from a folded flat square or similar ?

I'm looking to get one for all the nice wedding days I've had lately (thank you global warming!)

I recommend the Pixel Sunscreen that Bob linked to:

http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_PxlSunscreen.php

I have this and sometimes whip it out when the lights too bright in a media centre...(does that sound right?)

Well built and easy to stow.

I have also used a cardboard box cut to make a shade but it doesn't travel as well :-)

I put together this case and it works great for location and traveling.

I got the case off ebay, had the USB hardrives and card reader and bought the laptop shade from Compushade.com

if they ever decide to sell internationally i'll buy one... they store either on your laptop or in your bag and are so small you barely notice them.. but they work really well.

I have the same Griffgear one Gavin mentioned above (the Emu), and I've also got the Seaport iVisor Pro (
http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/RM1900/) which works well too. Note that, to accomodate USB leads etc. poking out from the sides or back of the laptop, a 13" system or smaller would be advisable on the iVisor.

All the best, Simon.

->> I have the ThinkTank, but I like the Hoodman a little better (I've played with it but don't own it). Both block all the light you need, but the Hoodman slips over the monitor, where the ThinkTank houses the entire computer. I use a MacBook Pro, which runs hot to begin with. The ThinkTank restricts airflow to the computer, causing it to run even hotter. Because the Hoodman only covers the monitor portion of the laptop, the vents of the computer still get all the airflow they need.
