nifty gadget for your PW's

It's a caddy for your PW's that will attach it to light stands and other things, a bit more securely than velcro.
Don't have one, haven't seen one in person, but it looked kind of handy so I thought I'd share.

->> Good idea but PW really needs to step up and improve the design of the PW's. I don't understand why they have not improved the physical design and at least build a smaller case.

They could easily have an indentation case so they could be strapped easily to a lightstand. I mean come on a 2" square of velco.

->> These things have proved so fragile that I'm considering a pelican case. I have at least two that need to go in to be repaired and a third with a very loose antenea.

I have a Halliburton case designated for "Lighting" that I keep all of my PWs, film-era SB-xx speedlights, and AA charger in. I use cut foam inserts to nest everything in.

->> And if you are using superclamps?

To store our PW's, we use Lowepro point and shoot camera bags. The one we have found that works best is model number Z20. It holds the PW and sync cord well, and they have a pocket on the front for batteries.

We do not fly for assignments, so we pack each light in its own Paul C Buff strobe carrying bag. Each bag has one strobe (WL1600), power cord, PW in affore mentioned Z20, small reflector, and one superclamp.

Hope this helps, Sam

->> I just received 2 of them and they are built well, although now my MultiMax's won't fit into the padded REI pouches that I carry them in and they really are not a perfect fit on the MultiMax. The PW has a curved back and the PW Caddy is flat, not curved. I guess they will stay in my remote kit and be used when I need them.

->> I just got mine minutes ago. I think they work great on the Multimax units. I am not sure what issue you are having. Yes, they are a little thicker but they do still fit in my TT bag.

I just ordered 2 more! I am tired of having dangling PW's and this is a good answer for me.

->> Bryan, my point is that the caddy does not conform to the shape of the back of the MultiMax, one is curved, one is flat, which I can fix with a Dremel tool. And I like to use a padded pouch for each of my PW's which won't work with the caddy installed. It's not a big deal, I am not even considering returning them, just commenting for those interested.
