->> Hello all, I just did the dreaded format without checking that I had a back-up of some images off of a CF card. Can anyone recommend an image recovery software for SanDisk cards? Any advice would be appreciated.

->> Adam --
I personally swear by PhotoRescue - it's the only one that's consistently saved me when there's been a problem. best $30 I ever spent on deadline.

I'm pretty sure you can download a trial version, and if it sees your photos, you can enter a reg code then and it'll recover the full images. Worth a shot at least to see what's on the card.
cheers. |

| ->> sandisk image recovery software that comes with most sandisk cards. If not I think you can purchase the software from sandisk for about $40. I would also go to you local store that sells flash cards and see if it is included with that card if so you get a card and the porgram and only have to spend about $20. |

| ->> Adam, one time I had a problem with one of my SanDisk cards and PhotoRescue did not work on it. RescuePro worked flawlessly. So my vote is for RescuePro. Just my 2 cents. |

->> Adam,
I agree with Jon: PhotoRescue has saved me a couple of times now and I've used it to help out my P&S friends who have done the same thing. Great Product! |

->> Here's a link to a freeware program that I tried last week that worked pretty well, if you want to try it first before you spend some money.

->> The one that comes with the card reader (lexar I believe) never ever worked for me. Either it wasn't a 'lexar' card, or it wasn't a 'lexar reader' even when it was both. And I tried this on many different computers, with different readers and cards (just a trial, make sure it works before you need it...).
Fortunatly, my primary client's IT department has a fantastic recovery package that works better then flawlessly. BUT it's for the big computer boys, and when I found out it cost a couple $K I wrote it off. If anybody is curious though, I can find out what it was. |
