OT - Me thinks no more cable cam for awhile

| ->> Aside from the fact that there was no safety to protect the players, coaches and staff beneath the camera, what amazes me is that the camera was allowed to stay hoisted and shoot, causing a game to stop for 10 minutes so the camera and rig could be fixed, twice. |

->> Crazy.
Maybe if the camera were wearing a red vest it would have been more visible and... like... safer or something. |

| ->> David, I don't think there won't be cable cams anymore. If this would be remote from someone of photographers, then yes. But with all the money TV is paying, I don't think anyone will consider this incident as problem. Hell... I would say, they wouldn't consider this as problem, even if camera would kill someone when it would fall down. |

->> Now if it almost hit Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, I'm sure it would be a different story :p
I don't think that this will affect the policy on TV cameras. Teams often make more money from TV rights than from ticket sales, or at least close to it, so its hard to believe that TV will be reprimanded. Now if a player actually gets hurt from a TV person, then they'll get in trouble. Oh wait http://tinyurl.com/265v23
It's all fun and games until someone loses a player |

You know they won't tell about the first time this was tried when the camera was probably crushed by a cleat when the players came onto the field during introductions. Isn't Karma grand! Maybe someday a remote can be placed under the dirt, and someone can have that fabulous shot of grass, dirt, and the bottom of someone's shoe! |

Can you imagine what would have happened if this had caused a redo of a key play? |

->> I wonder how much the cable cam weighs compared to a 600mm f4?
On a serious note... I wonder if they would ever try to get a cable cam in hockey? Might have to raise the scoreboard over centre ice. |
