Industrial Expansion in China

->> The New York Times just put online a great new media feature/section on the environmental impact of industrial expansion in China. If you haven't checked it out yet, it's definitely worth a visit. It's spectacular journalism.

->> Wow, the presentation certainly is amazing. Great work by the NYT on an issue that I certainly didn't have any idea was as severe as it appears to be.

The stat that really struck me was that only 1% of China's urban dwellers breathe air considered safe by European Union standards.

I think one of the best aspects of the whole presentation is that most of the images stand very well alone, but together form a piece of work that is more cohesive and more powerful.

->> The slides are great. Really compelling images. I also had no idea about the conditions in those places. Hopefully the work will breathe some life into conservation movements over there.
