As of Saturday "The situation has not changed in the last 24 hours, Alex remains sedated and in a coma. She is receiving the best neurological care available in Israel at Hadassah Hospital and in a few days the surgeons will start to make an assessment of her condition and make recommendations for future care.

For the next few days we do not expect much more news than this during the long and painful wait while Alex sleeps but as soon as we hear anything we will let you all know as soon as we can."

Evers said VII will collect money to help with Boulat's medical expenses. Those wishing to help should contact VII through its Los Angeles office: 920 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice, CA, 90291, or (310) 452-3600.

Alexandra is an amazing photojournalist, someone for all young women to look up to. Lets all wish her the best and keep her in our thoughts.

->> Extremely sad. Boulat's photos showed a sensitivity to her subjects without sacrificing the impact they had on the conflicts she covered. She was an amazing photojournalist and person.

Our profession has lost a true artist.
