| ->> Since the weather in my area is getting warmer and I just bought a bike I thought I would revive this thread. My bike of choice is a Victory Vegas 8-Ball. I never really found a Harley I liked the looks of and the Victory is one sweet looking bike IMO. Harley's where overpriced. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting out and riding. |

| ->> 1992 Yamaha Seca II. Bought it wrecked in 1996, fixed it up, rode it across the country to CO/UT in 1998. Every summer I see headlines about motorcyclists going too fast into corners or losing against cars, considered selling, then gas prices skyrocketed the last few years and I'm glad the bike gets 45mpg. |

Managed 20,000 k's last year, or close to it. Not bad for someone that is supposed to work..guess that is the upside of being a freelancer. Don't have to ask for time off.. |

->> I have a 1979 Vespa P-125x. I know it's not a "motorcycle" per se but I'm more of a classic scooter guy anyway. It's got a Pollini kit and a Mazzy racing crank and it's pretty durn fast considering it's got 10 inch wheels. My scooter club is working out the details to ride onto the field during an upcoming Real Salt Lake game.

| ->> Jeremy - I got my motorcycle license on a 150cc Lambretta scooter my dad and I restored back in '99. I think it was a '62. While we were doing it I was all into the hop-up kits. It's AMAZING what you can do to those things! |

->> Being on a bike is a pretty wonderful thing. You aren't encased inside a car, you are part of your environment -- really, you're immersed in it which is a different way of travelling. One that I think most photographers are uniquely open to.
I know that the photos I got riding a motorcycle were vastly different than ones I would have got had I taken a car on that trip...part of that is purely practical but a lot of it is the headspace you are in, when you're riding. |

| ->> Hey Jeremy and Aaron, I just finished washing my 2005 Vespa PX 150 as my wife and I are packing for a trip to Italy next Wednesday. We hope to make it to Pisa and the Piaggio muesem. It's a fun little machine and we hope to buy a GTS 250 so we can both ride. It's the only thing we fight about now-who gets to take the Vespa to dinner while the other takes the car. Ciao. Bob |

| ->> Funny Jim Bounds. My neighbors say I look like a Circus Monkey on a tricycle. I am a tad long for the Vespa. Tough to take a rider. That's why we are looking for a second scooter. Still the best fun I've had in a while. There's nothing like rolling up to some big Harley at the red light, seeing the fear in their eyes and revving up that 150cc Italian Stallion. I had one Harley biker ask me about my leathers. Told him Vespa riders don't wear no leathers-we wear Polyesters! Cheers |

->> Right now I ride on the back of a BMW K1200 RS. =) We're actually riding 2-up from Florida to Deal's Gap next month...
Someday I'll get a motorcycle license of my own, and when that happens I'm destined for a Triumph Bonneville or a Norton Commando.

PMR - you going to be around in May and up for a ride?
Jeremy Harmon - sweet ride. I heart scooters! |

Anyone else ride with their equipment? I used to carry my 400 two eight in a tank bag, but that was back when I was young and dumb...

->> Patrick,
I'll be headed out to Portland, for the NPPA multimedia program March 25th, due back June 10th, will be riding the K1100LT. Let me know where you'll be after the 3rd or if you'll be on the road yet. I'll be headed up to Seattle, then back down the Oregon coast, into California, maybe into Yosemite and from there it's still up in the air. Would like to swing through Western Colorado to see my aunt and uncle.
Melissa, you gotta go to the Georgia Mountain Rally http://bmwmoga.info/
Very fun roads up there. I met up with former Naples co-worker there a few years ago, give him a buzz, he's a very good rider....couldn't keep up with him! :)
Ben Gray....you still riding?
Ride safe! Shaun |

->> Better late than never to get in on this... I'm down to one bike now, a 1999 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic with a stage 2 kit installed. It rips...and, it's comfortable! Took a trip with my brother in law a few years ago during the All Star break from Chicago to Calgary via Salt Lake City, up the west side of the Rockies to Golden B.C. then east through Canada to Winnipeg and back to Chicago in 12 days. I also shot a football game in Charlotte in 2001 that I rode to during October.. shipped the lenses, and was able to enjoy the Appalachians in full color. Been riding Harley's since 1976... Motorcycles have been a big part of my life..
Ride safe, ride free... |
