Online photoshop?

->> Hey Guys. A friend of mine is writing a review about this new web site that popped up.
http://www.picnik.com
It's an online photo editor that offers some cool editing tools. He was curious how professional photographers feel about the program. Would they use it? What's missing? What are the pros and cons?
I gave him my take, but I thought I'd open it up to this board and let anyone chime in. He'll keep an eye on the responses.
Thanks. |

| ->> If I'm not mistaken, isn't Adobe creating such a program for photographers who don't have immediate access to the full program? |

| ->> I tried it, it crashed half way through using it. It might be easier to download and use picasa if you dont have full access to p/shop. Hopefully Adobe's is better. |

->> Maybe it's simple code, I wouldn't know, but I find it somewhat impressive that all of those adjustments can be done in a web browser, even though the interface is a little difficult to get used to.
My only concern is the uploading. It's slow, yeah, but more importantly where is the file going? Who else has access to it? What might they do with it? I don't generally like trusting large corporations, but I'd trust Adobe with access to my files before I'd ever trust picnik.com that anybody could have established. I know they say in their privacy statement that the images aren't made public... but that doesn't mean someone who's within picnik couldn't take the files and do something...
I dunno... call me paranoid and cautious... |

->> Sorry I didn't read the post properly, I didn't notice he was looking for some reviews:
The editing tools themselves, while basic, were quite good and comparable to picasa's editing tools.
It took a long time to start the program and a lot longer to upload the image, if he could find a way to have the program work on the image locally without upload that would be a good start.
As I said in my previous msg, the I.E 7 crashed while editing an image hence losing everything that I had done. If that happened on location (only place I might use something like this) I would be a bit annoyed because of deadlines etc.
Cheers
