->> Thanks Fran! Thanks all!

SS made a huge showing in this contest. I think it's especially fun to see winning pictures that we saw first on SS - like the suicide race photos or the dog sledders.

Here's a list (hoping that I didn't miss anybody) and a link to the photos -

->> For those who don't know it, judging is open. Meaning, you can watch it happen live.

I visited Columbia, MO and college pal/SS member Gerik Parmele from Sunday-Wed and watched the judging. It's was my third time going down to watch, always an inspirational time. Nice to get away from the daily grind, meet some people, etc. I'd highly recommend it to any students or young professionals.

A few quick thoughts on entries.

- partial or full nudity doesn't make a picture a winner!
- An athlete spitting, no matter how cool you think the spit looks "OUT" will be the vote
- A dead body, doesn't make the photo a winner, shocking perhaps, but not a winner
- Showing human emotion and spirit will go a long way, giving someone dignity when they have been ignored or cast off by society will go a long way.
- There are a lot of good pictures out there, they can't all win, if you entered and didn't win, don't think it's because you're not a good photog.

Shaun
