I'll give the first 2 people who email me $250 for your 1Dmk2s before they become totaly obsolete and worthless. |

I'll stick to my 1d Mark II N, I don't need the live view or the extra 2 megapixels. |

"Dual DIGIC III Image Processors working in parallel to provide up to 50% less shadow noise and superb image quality; new Highlight Tone Priority option adds control of bright highlights"
a new 16-35. It would be sweet if they distort less, but i don't know if that is optically possible.

The live view will only seem amateurish if you use it all the time. It will come in handy when you hold your camera above your head.
I wonder if Brad Mangin will write a review for sports shooter like last time. |

->> Projected to ship in April.
There are also some interesting additions to the CF options. Various aspect ratios as well as AF fine tuning - both in general and also for specific lenses. Looks like we'll be able to do our own front/back focus fixes on the spot. Awesome! Saves a lot of wasted time visiting Canon and will hopefully free up the service technicians for serious repairs.
Can't wait to read some more in-depth, hands on reviews soon.
I do have to admit I was hoping for a new all in one 1D camera that would serve both super high resolution FF imaging when needed or lower resolution higher fps for action, etc. And in a smaller body. At least the III is 8 oz lighter, thanks mostly to the new battery.
I agree with Jim that mixed kits of II and III bodies will cause some headaches with batteries and chargers, but it was inevitable. One can't expect Canon to stick with Ni-MH when everyone else is using Lithium. But I think a mixed kit will be a much bigger headache due to the significantly different UI design.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the 1DsII... |

->> Yes, Live View seems like amateur hour, but imagine doing "hail mary's" over your head and actually being able to see what you're shooting, and being able to set up a floor remote without becoming a contortionist or buying a right-angle finder.
Just use it for short periods, a continually-operating sensor becomes a hot sensor, and a hot sensor is a noisy sensor. Live view will make your pictures noisier if you leave it on for too long. Unless they have some low-temperature sensor, which is possible.
101 megapixels a second is pretty interesting from a tech viewpoint, with 14x3 bits per pixel, thats 4.2 billion bits per second, or a HALF GIGABYTE of bitmap data flowing thru the camera each second, before its converted to the friendly RAW or JPEG formats.
I wish that WiFi thing was built into the camera though.
Still trying to find a picture of the BACK of the camera... |

->> AH HA!
With the live view, its manual focus only. Sure, the mirror will be up, so the regular phase-detection module cant work, but why couldn't they implement the contrast-detection AF from the powershots while the sensor is being used? Seems like a missed opportunity. You might be able to see what youre doing with a Hail Mary now, but you'll have to manually focus. |

OK, this may be silly question, but how will you be able to see that screen over your head, the "live view" unless your lens is pointing to the sky??? And then what will you photograph? Unless it has a screen that flips out, rotates and can actually be seen while your lens is pointing at your chosen subject (like on video cameras), that screen won't be very useful over your head.. |
