I shoot on contract for Visual Image Photography. They have the contract for High School State finals for several states, Including Ohio where I shoot.

I know for the state soccer game 2 years ago they had someone fairly local. State golf this year was a WKU Student. Not sure about any of the others. If you want to shoot and sale you can always buy the rights to do so, but the price is quite hefty.

->> In CT I'm not aware of anyone having any sort of contract. The state governing body, the CIAC, usually has a volunteer with a cheap camera at all the championship games, but that's about it.

Given the current fiasco in Wisconsin over this sort of thing, I'm curious the reason for this thread?

I did not notice that. No telling. I have noticed they mostly shoot the stuff in Austin (hoops, soccer, baseball, etc.) so maybe the UIL won't pay travel. If you really want to know, contact Kim Rogers at the UIL. She's the media person.

The official position in MA is that event photography is not allowed. They have told me that they are NOT going to police the situation though.

->> As has been mentioned three previous times in this thread, VIP has Ohio and I believe the company is based out of Wisconsin. The company that used to have the contract for Ohio was 20-20 Photographic out of Michigan. With that being noted, it seems odd that with so many good shooters in Ohio that out-of-state companies are getting the work. While they do hire Ohio shooters, the profits go out-of-state.

It seems that it wouldn't be difficult to get together a team of Ohioans to form a company of some sort to bid on these and keep all the money in Ohio. Anyone in Ohio who wants to take the idea and work on it has my full blessing as I don't have the time to get it done. All I ask is that you include me in the team of shooters.

And that is correct they out of Wisconsin.

I found this thread because I just shot bowling state finals for the 1st time and was looking for pics from others that shoot bowling.
