| ->> Gitzo 1568 works well with a 4 or 6, and light enough you can set the lens down hood-first without the weight of the monopod tipping it over. No need to get anything heavier duty unless you're planning on pole vaulting with it at the same time. |

| ->> The Gitzo Tele-Studex Monopod / Cat. No: G1588 is a nice heavy duty monopod. It weighs in at two lbs and is not as compact as others but it is a very solid support for a 400mm f/2.8 lens |

| ->> I use a SLIK carbon fiber monopod "Pro Pod 381 CF". I Looked at several and bought this one because I'm 6'2" and this was one of the few that brought the camera up to eye level and was still solid with a 300 or 400 2.8. |

->> The G-1578L Mountaineer Mk2 Tele Studex Carbon Fiber Monopod - Supports 17.60 lb and only weighs 1.6 lbs. It is very strong and has the extra height for anyone 6' tall or higher. Most of the other monopods only extend to a max of around 63" [5' 3"] which really is not tall enough unless you you plan to bend over all the time or only shot while on your knees. I believe the G-1578L extends to about 77" [6' 5"]. And, because of the strenght, you can support even a 500 or 600 is you need to.
And, they are available from SportsShooter.com sponsors. |
