Illinois Highway "Hot Spots"

->> We aren't exactly on the leading edge of technology - even thought the Internet was invented at University of Illinois - but we may catch up with some of the other states that have already done this.

Off my Insight news feed...
"Illinois' 53 rest stops could soon be wireless hot spots as well. The state is looking to equip rest areas with wireless Internet. Planners with IDOT hope to have the first rest stops online by next fall. The state is hoping to offer the access for free and is willing to trade ad space for the service. Drivers would get a half-hour of free surfing, with some restrictions. IDOT says travelers could check e-mail or get on the state's road condition website in case of bad weather."

30 minutes? Well, I guess that may let us transmit a short selection ahead of a deadline.
