->> Has anyone ever bought from bestpricecameras.com? Are they reliable?
I am looking to buy a D200 as my backup camera and their price is one of the lowest I found. |

| ->> May not always the best price but best service in your neck of the woods is Penn Camera, one of SS sponors. No headaches when dealing with Jeff Snyder or Louis frokm Samy's or Jody from Roberts. They stand behind us; stand behind them. |

->> Not to bash B&H, but our SportsShooter sponsors FREQUENTLY match and beat the prices from B&H, not to mention they are "local" for a lot of us, they ARE sponsors, they ANSWER the phone, return phone calls, and honestly do what they say they're gonna do when they say it.
Alison, give Jeff at Penn Camera a buzz:

| ->> The sponsors here will often do better than B&H on pricing. With that said I have also purchased elsewhere and have been treated very well at Calumet in Santa Ana, Pro Photo in Irvine and even Adorama when I have been in NYC. |

->> I had to buy a 20D, and wanted to save money too. I started going through one of those places because they have such amazing deals, but as it says in the review in the link above, they are nothing but fast talkers with misleading advertising (the camera i was to get at such a great price included only the camera, absolutely nothing else. Apparently you had to upgrade the package, and price, to get the little things, like a battery). I ended up just purchasing through B&H, and the other company still tried to charge my credit card, luckily my bank stopped them. So yeah, definitely use a good equipment house.

| ->> I have been out in the sun all day but if I understand this correctly if I see something i need on Adorama or B&H, Samy's or Penn will match the price. This would be real helpful I ordered some stuff from Adorama and have had a time with them sending me the product. I was debited the money from my account but never received the product. They have since rectified the problem but still, i need a place that i can trust and the people associated with website seem like they accept nothing but the best. I am not sure if i actually asked a question but it is, Do the SS sponsors match prices of competitors always, sometimes, never? Thank you. |

->> I would be willing to say that our sponsors often give a price better than the 'real' stores (bestprice and the like not included).
And there is something to be said about the service and knowledge of our sponsors.
In the past couple of weeks I've put together a new gym and portrait lighting kit for the upcoming season and I've been able to do it all for significantly less than the sponsors even have on their 'public' websites.
A personal call to someone who is professional, remembers my name/address/billing info with a quick click and who delivers exactly what I order (when they aren't making better suggestions) - and does so at a discount to support this site and its members - is the way to go. |

->> This has been said many times, but it's always important when dealing with our sponsors, so I'll repeat it here too...
When you call one of the sponsor's numbers, ALWAYS identify yourself as a SportsShooter member immediately, and ask to talk to one the SS contacts.
I haven't talked with Penn Camera in a while, but in working with Roberts and Samys, there are several people who are aware of the pricing we get. If you don't talk to one of those contacts you might not get the best prices, so it's worth taking the time to make sure you're talking to the right person/people.
At Samy's, I almost always talk with Laura Madden or Cory Clapp, and they've always been really fast to respond, SO friendly and great to work with. An added bonus for me is Samy's is just an over-night trip via UPS, so I get the same delivery time for UPS ground as I do for overnight - as long as UPS isn't backed-up or overloaded.
I've compared the prices between B&H and the sponsors many times and haven't ever found a time that the sponsors couldn't match B&H - and when you factor in the annoyance and hassle of dealing with the folks on the phone at B&H, our sponsors win hands-down. |

->> Bob Wilson, of Wilson's Camera in Ohio always beats B&H on camera prices by 10 to 20 dollars. If you pay by check, not credit card.

->> My last three camera bodies have come from B&H (Canon 10D), Penn Camera (20D), and Samy's (1Dm2N).
I would not hesitate to do business with any of those three companies again. All three have offered very good customer service. |
