2006 Churchill Downs Workshop

Skip Dickstein, Photographer
 |
Stillwater | NY | USA | Posted: 4:46 PM on 03.02.06 |
| ->> Stop procrastinating about the 2006 Churchill Downs Workshop, get on the website at http://www.chdphoto.com and apply. It is tuition free as a result of wonderful sponsors like NIKON and Brooks Institute and others. Open to juniors and seniors in college. Just pay your own travel, and cheap lodging and a little food expense and we will do the teaching. Where else can you get up with the sun and hit the room at night knowing that you just had the experience of your life. All your questions about the program can be answered by getting on the site. |

| ->> I went to this workshop a few years ago when I was a senior. There are so many subjects that attendees can pursue between the backside of the track, the track, and the front side. A student can shoot a story just on sports and competition or they can do a portrait series on those who make the races possible. From sports action to social issues there is something for every one to photograph at the Churchill Downs Sports Photojournalism Workshop. Aside from it being a wonderful experience there is not a day that goes by where I dont use something I learned at the workshop while working. |

->> I know you've read all the posts before about how great the thing is, so just apply already. This isn't a workshop where they take 500 kids and all your money. It's small, you work one on one with phenominal mentors and like Brendan said, you will use the stuff you learn everyday in your profession.
Ladies, this is a great experience for you too so get your stuff together and send it in! E-mail me if you have any questions or need advice on editing. |

->> I am hoping to apply for the Workshop, however, there may be some question as to my class standing. I should be a junior, but some of my credits have not been transferred to my new school location. In any case, if I don't get to apply this year, I will definitely do it next year. It's a sad situation considering that I am 33 years old and trying to be a junior.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most influential moments of your photography career and you HAVE TO APPLY or you’ll be missing out.
Please, don’t delay. http://www.chdphoto.com
