PhotoShelter: help uploading images.

->> I just joined PhotoShelter and I'm trying to upload several hundred photos to it.
I installed the image upload program... installed the latest Java runtime and the program uploads one image and hangs after reporting that there is 0% left to upload of the second image.
I tried the DnD method and it has sat there for 45 minutes uploading 149 megs of photos and when I get done it said I had 10 images. I then tried to upload my images again via the same method (the first time I got in the shower and didn't check it before I left for the evening to see if it finished) and now I have 15 images.
For both methods I've been trying to upload about 150 images.
I used one of PhotoShelter's contact forms to ask the same questions but I figured I'd get a quicker response from some of you here.
Thanks,
Mike |

->> PC or MAC?
Is any firewall configured on the system that might be blocking certain ports? |

->> You have to wait for their server to process images, thumbnails, exif info etc... in order to be shown on yor gallery. Speed of processing depends mostly on size of your imeges, but on other thins too. By the time you read this there sould be all of your 150 images avialable. When I uploaded 2000 images (DnD, 8Mb images jpeg 7 compression) it took about 30 minutes before all of them were avialable.
all the best

->> Henry, PC. Zone Alarm firewall is configured to ask me about any programs trying to access the internet or system resources and when it did I told it to allow PhotoShelter to do anything it wants.
Pedja, I read that on their site and I thought about that as well but the first time I tried the upload program it supposedly uploaded all 150 images and I was gone for 4 hours playing poker. I figured that was plenty of time.
Grover did get back to me this morning so we'll see what we can figure out.

->> If anyone is interested in the solution to my problem...
Turns out the photo that caused the hang was saved out of ACDSee with a "different standard". Actually, all of the images I was attempting to upload were rotated using ACDSee but there were four causing problems.
A later gallery I uploaded gave me no problems and it had it's images rotated by ACDSee as well, though I believe a newer version.
They are adding "a small fix" to avoid this error in the future but that was the problem.
