->> Thanks for all the kind words! I've had a lot of highs and lows in my life in the past 24 months, but the support from this community has always been constant. I am continually blown away by the level of photography showcased every month in the clip contest, and it always pushes me to work harder. The network of talented people on SS.com continue to be a inspiration to me, and I am just happy to be a part of it.

->> What blows me away about Donald Miralle's work is the regularity in which he's able to create awe-inspiring images. His photos go beyond a creative eye and technical expertise - they consistently exhibit a thought process that other photographers can learn from and aspire to. His earning of back-to-back SportsShooter POY awards is well-deserved.

->> It's inspiring to know that unique shots a competitive sportsperson can come up with for so many different sports that he may not do himself... and constantly evolve and keep us seated on the edge each month...
I certainly know who to emulate if I have the chance to. Keep them coming in! |

->> Congratulations Donald, well earned!!
It is great to see a class act in this business win this contest. It is easy to admirer someone's fine constant work from afar, but I always wonder if the photographer behind the work is a good person or not.
It is one thing to be extremely talented photographer but it is another thing altogether to be extremely a talented photographer, humble and generally a good person overall while giving back to the profession. There are several people on this site like this in fact.
I was able to meet Mr. Miralle and take part in his awesome workshop at the October 28th and 29th 2005 Great White North Workshop (http://www.GWNW.ca)in Toronto. Donald was extremely positive and showed that he is a true pro through and through all weekend long and not just during his workshop. Donald spent a ton of time with students and others reviewing portfolios and answering every question thrown at him.
Not sure if he was given a toque and made an honourary Canadian or not just like super shooter Robert Seale was in Calgary last April 2005 at the WCNPA's Photojournalism conference......... if not he should have!!
Again congratulations Donald and well deserved.
Just what you need right before the Winter Olympics..... another Mark II. A nice thick Canadian toque would be nice right now! :-)
