->> I am on break right now from work because the University of Houston is on Christmas break, but here are 10 sports pictures I like that I shot in 2005 that I found on my computer at home. Most of my picks are on my computer at work. When I get back to the office I will update with my 20 best picks of the year.

Looking back over my assignments from the past year brought back a lot of memories, and made me realize yet again how much fun I have doing what I do. |

->> Mark, here's my year in pictures attempt that I started last week for my motocross site. I too had a really fun time in 2005.
http://www.mxpictures.com/images/2005-Pics/YIP/
These maybe aren't the best shots that I took in 2005, but I attempted to show all the events and places I was at in 2005 with a picture from each. But by the time I got to June, I was getting tired (and lazy), so I skipped about a dozen motocross events. |

->> Well this is basically my years best minus about 5 shots that are from 2004. This was my application to SSA 2 which I was accepted too and cant wait to go.
I have some other shots that arent in this gallery but these are still some of my favorites.
(And I know the flag picture is saved vertical when its actually a horizontal shot)

->> Without a formal news publication to work for, I spent a lot of time doing freelance non-editorial work to pay for grad school. I did manage to squeeze in a few sporting events and even some news assignments around town. The highlight (and lowlight) of the year was my trip to New Orleans within days of it being hit by Hurricane Katrina.
I will be starting out the new year as an intern at the Columbus Dispatch, a great paper for news, features, and sports. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges the internship will present.
So here are my best from 2005, and here's to a better 2006!

->> I won't get crazy and say these are my best, but they're the images I liked for whatever reason and could find floating around on my hard drive. Note to self: It's time for a better way of archiving pictures in the new year.
Here they are:

->> My best sports shots of the year was actually a series called "Dancing with the Devil." It is still located in my special gallery at http://www.sportsshooter.com/richarduhlhorn/dustdevil
Hang Glider Magazine ran one shot as a doubletruck (don't tell me that digital doesn't work for quality magazine reproduction) and the rest as a series in their gallery.
Happy Holidays and a most prosperous year in 2006
